Artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly evolved in recent years and has become an integral part of our everyday lives. In today's post, I talk about the key terminologies that you need to know even before getting into LLMs.
Artificial Intelligence (AI): Imagine machines that can play chess, translate languages, or even diagnose diseases. That's AI in a nutshell! It is all about creating intelligent machines that can do tasks that require human intelligence.
Machine Learning (ML): is an approach to artificial intelligence by building systems that can learn to identify patterns in a data set.
Neural Networks: Inspired by the human brain, these networks connect layers of "neurons" to analyze information. Picture them as intricate webs sifting through data, learning patterns like a pro detective.
Deep Learning: Deep Learning refers to a neural network with more than 3 layers. The word refers to the depth of layers in a neural network. It is well suited for complex real-world problems. Facial recognition is one of the examples of Deep Learning.
Generative AI: is a type of Artificial Intelligence that can generate different types of content such as text, imagery, audio, and video. It can paint stunning landscapes, compose music, or even write like Shakespeare.
And finally, Large Language Models (LLMs): These powerful AI models, trained on vast amounts of textual data, unlock the secrets of natural language. They can answer your questions, translate languages in real-time, or even generate poems.
In the next post, I will dive deep into LLMs and how they leverage the Transformers Architecture.
